Dr Gary Blackwood – Chiropractor
Gary Blackwood gained his chiropractic degree from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (Bournemouth) whilst it was affiliated with the University of Portsmouth.
His motivation to become a chiropractor was a result of suffering himself from recurring headaches and neck pain following a stressful number of years working in the finance sector in London.
He decided to visit a chiropractor and two things happened: his pain disappeared, and he was hooked on chiropractic.
“For the first time, someone explained to me how my body worked. Even though I’d studied physics, maths and chemistry up to that point, the theory behind chiropractic made total sense to me. Four months after my treatment began I’d made my application to Chiropractic College”
Gary purchased the Family Wellness and Chiropractic Centre on Chester St, Edinburgh in Sept 2013, having working for Wight Chiropractic Clinics in Haddington for many years.
“As a chiropractor every day is as rewarding as it is challenging. I am very grateful to be able to help people from all walks of life achieve their health, sporting and life goals.”
Sarah Quantick – Chiropractic Assistant
Sarah started working as a Chiropractic Assistant at White Tree Chiropractic in March 2017, just a few weeks after returning from her travels in Southeast Asia. Sarah spent a total of 5 intensive weeks in Chiang Mai, Thailand studying a 35hr Foot Reflexology course and a 150hr Thai Massage course at Baan Hom Samunphrai traditional Thai massage school.
Having already spiked an interest around 2 years ago in yoga, Ayurvedic medicine and in practising mindfulness, this trip helped influence Sarah’s enrolling into the School of Holistic Therapy. From June 2017 she will be studying to earn a diploma in Holistic Therapeutic Massage.
Sarah is interested in many aspects of health, wellbeing and alternative therapies. Working at White Tree Chiropractic has opened her eyes to the wonders of our self-healing, self-regulating nervous system. Sarah learns just as much from practice members as she does from working for Dr. Gary Blackwood and is very grateful for it. This is sometimes shared via the Facebook page so keep checking in for interesting updates!
In her spare time Sarah enjoys sewing and often has a number of personal projects on the go, she is green fingered and enjoys dabbling with plants, she loves to cook and has an eclectic taste in music and film to suit every mood.
Sarah is warm, welcoming, will always greet you with a smile and loves seeing the practice members benefit and transform throughout their treatment programme!
